I think that it's awesome. Kanye is also the only rapper to have really come out against the diamond industry, pointing out that the "bling" that rappers love wearing is the result of the quasi-enslavement of poor black workers in Africa. I got real tired of the posturing and the sped up soul samples for a while, but I'm in love with this man.
Don't want to snub Jean Grae who was the first rapper I'd heard asking "how many Africans died for your chain". I think dead prez had a few lines about diamond wars.
Well, you know that I'm Jean Grae's biggest fan (consult my blog, circa a couple of months ago, for confirmation), but she doesn't really count in the same way that Kanye does, because no one listens to her.
