Bad Blogger

I gotta admit it. I've been a bad blogger. I used to be good. This used to be one of my favorite blogs. Now i don't even check in on it very often much less update it. And when I do, I never post the fun stuff I used to like rap songs and pictures of me flossing and mug shots and stuff. But it's worse than that. I don't go to my friends blogs anymore. I don't worry about crafting clever comments for other people's blogs. Despite being an O.G. Kossack (UserID #32) over at daily kos, I've let my trusted user status lapse. I'm so lazy, I didn't even bother with the html to link to DailyKos. Ugh. That doesn't make me feel any better.

These days, blogging for me just means checking Atrios, Crooks&Liars and the Blazerblog and calling it a day. I don't know what it is. I'm still pro-blog. It's not like I've gone back to reading newspapers or watching the TV news. I'm still on my side of the generational gap when it comes to media. It's just that I'm not sure what the point of personal blogs like this are. So I think I'm going to put the flossblog on ice for a while and maybe try something new. maybe something fictional or more cinematic. I don't know. I just think we're all getting a little bored with my very occasional pithy thoughts and opinions and i need something new to get my juices flowing again.

For the record, I have never been bored with your blog. You were the one who inspired me to blog in the first place. You just lost momentum. I seriously miss your mugshots, your floss shots, and your hip hop101's, as well as the famous people stories, and random thoughts. When I show people the archivess of your blog, they REALLY like it. Especially the floss pics, and the comics and shit. They find it humorous and original. Do what you got to do, but I have to say I miss October 2004 through May 2005.

I'm with Sonya. I like the blog ever so much since I can find out what's going on without having to call you, and that's an asset! On the other hand, perhaps it's time to move to a new medium, a different creative endeavor, in the organic way that one things leads to another. HARNESS that creative energy, you're a TALENTED guy.

Stef brings up a good new post-modern question; Is admitting to not reading a friend's blog a snub, an insult akin to "I don't want to go to your birthday party" or is it more akin to "I don't want to read your diary" which I think is totally reasonable. Sometimes the blogosphere just gets a little creepy and 1084ish like we're all supposed to be constantly keeping tabs on one another.

Steph. I'm not done. It's just that part of the marathon where you get the cramps and you can't think of anything except how much running scuks. i'll soldier through.

well, elliot, while i was kidding about being offended, i think it's definitely more birthday party than diary. people make their blogs public for a reason. i don't have one of those "then i woke up, then i went to the grocery store" kind of blogs. i mean, i only post personal stories if they're funny or relevant to the outside world in some way.

and, i mean, how can the sort of genius who posts video of his interview with a sebastian telfair bobble-head just stop blogging? good christ.
