I'm watching part 2 of the new Scorsese Dylan Doc. Man is dope. Wait...wait...wait just a sec. Oh. Just got kind of lame. It keeps doing that! Part 1 was a little tedious and ...wait, Oh, now it went and got awesome again. It's the interviews man, they just suck. All the Scorceseing is where its at. That opening sequence (cut up from Pennebaker's Eat the Document) with the stoned Dylan riffing on absurd British street sings. Brilliant. The Kennedy assassination sequence. Awesome TV. Then some shmucko Friend Of Bob comes on and says exactly the most obvious thing possible. Oh cool. Now we're into super-pretentious absurdist beatnik Bob. I hope they replay this a bunch. It's nice to see it uninterupted by pledge drives. Holy shit! was that Peter (Paul?) longingly saying "Everybody wanted to sleep with Bobby" with a faraway look in his eye. I think I heard him sigh.

UPDATE: Oh man, D.A. Penebaker's just as big a tool as I always assumed he was.
