Amish Country vs. Bill O'Reilly
Ding ding ding! It's over folks. K.O. by the plain folks. Gil Smart hits back:
To be fair, O’Reilly never actually used the term “cut and run.” Neither did U.S. Rep. John Murtha, whom O’Reilly has called a “cut-and-runner.” Neither did Howard Dean, whom O’Reilly has called “a cut-and-run guy.”
O’Reilly constantly slings the “cut-and-run” mud at those who deem our excellent Iraq adventure anything less than a noble necessity, whether they’ve used the term or not.
But when you sling it right back at him, it’s all so unfair.
....
It’s as if O’Reilly wants points for “staying the course,” but now that things have gone so far south that even he can’t brush it off, he wants the latitude to express misgivings without being slammed for hypocrisy.
No deal.
O’Reilly deserves exactly as much latitude as he’s shown others. What’s good for the goose is good for the gabber.
